Barton Creek Mission Statement
The mission at Barton Creek is to nurture the whole child in a safe, supportive and academically challenging atmosphere, recognizing and celebrating the uniqueness of each individual. BCE promotes a respect for self, others and the environment.
Barton Creek has approximately 450 students. A comprehensive instructional program is provided, including music, art, and physical education classes on a three-day rotation. Students have supervised access to the Internet and have the benefit of several networked computers in each classroom. Gifted and Talented services are offered to identified students. Classes at BCE also enjoy the Literacy Library that supports our Guiding Reading instruction.
Built in 1990, Barton Creek has seen many improvements in its short life that have created an inviting atmosphere for children. Outside are two playgrounds and a nature trail leading to outdoor classrooms. Science instruction is maximized in the Science Lab.
Barton Creek provides a broad continuum of services for students with special needs, including assistance in the Enriched Language Arts and Advanced Math classes for students who meet the requirements for placement.
