Barton Hills was named after William Uncle Billy Barton who set up a homestead sometime in 1837. But it was only in the 1930s to 1940s when it experienced a boost in home sales. Barton Creek Greenbelt - Beside the Barton Hills Neighborhood is the greenbelt. This nature preserve includes many trails that hikers and cyclists have enjoyed for decades.
