What local residents call Central Austin varies widely. If you ask 100 Austinites, you will get 99 different answers. On this site we generally include the area bordered by Lady Bird Lake to the south, Hwy 183 to the north, I-35 to the east and Mopac to the west. Central Austin real estate includes downtown, Camp Mabry, The University of Texas, and neighborhoods on either side of Mopac, such as Tarrytown and Pemberton Heights.
