Eanes Independent School District

We define knowledge as the ability to “put ones potential to its maximum use” and if such is the definition of knowledge then it is logical that we as parents would want to give our children as much potential as is humanly possible. So when moving into the Austin area, one of our primary concerns, if not “THE” primary concern, is the school district where we choose to live.

Although all of the Austin area schools focus strongly on education, there are districts that are better known for their great schools and smaller communities, than others. Among these is the Eanes Independent School District. The Eanes School district strongly believes in a good education, and they believe that every student should be involved in the educational process.

The Eanes ISD Mission

~ To engage each and every student and to create interest by these students in the learning process.

~ Build expert and an experienced team of teachers and support staff by choosing teachers that are highly educated and who are certified to teach in Texas.

~ Find supplemental revenue so we can fund projects and grow as a district.

The Eanes district is 31 square miles and its boundaries include the Rollingwood, Westlake Hills, and parts of Southwest Austin. There are nine schools in the school district, six that are elementary schools, two middle schools, and one high school.

The Eanes Independent School District has an enrollment of approximately 7,000. The smaller number of enrolled students benefits children who go to school in this district. Remember the smaller a class, the more attention the children in a class get from their teacher. An important point to think about is that there is only a 1% drop out rate in this school district.

At Eanes, teachers are a central part of what makes the school district so successful. Every teacher has about 14 years experience with over 30% of those teachers having an even higher education. The Eanes school test scores are among the highest in the nation. Eanes students ACT scores are on average the highest in the
State and compete with the best in the nation.

Over 80% of all seniors plan to attend college, 10% planned to attend a two year community college and 7% planned to either join the military or go into employment.
