Hays CISD Profile

Abraham Lincoln defined an education well, when he said, “give me six hours to chop down a tree and I will spend the first four sharpening the axe.” What he referred to was that education takes time, but once you have it, it becomes invaluable. The same holds true of education today. The road is long, but it can be made pleasant and that is what the Hays Independent schools aim is. The Hays Independent School District intends to help each and every child each step of the way through the Hays CISD.

The Hays CISD is located in north central Hays County, it takes up over 221 square miles and has 17 campuses with more than 11,000 students. This school district is made up of two high schools, four middle schools, nine elementary schools.
