Highlands at Crystal Falls Neighborhood

The Highlands at Crystal Falls neighborhood is near the streets branching off Alamo Bound, Osage and Prosperity Drive on Lakeline Boulevard. It is not possible to miss the beautifully etched Limestone Boulder at the entrance of the neighborhood. The Highlands community features homes by four different builders: Perry Homes, David Weekly Homes, Drees Custom Homes, Highland Homes and Mercedes Homes. The neighborhood provides a true Hill Country landscape and is probably the last one.

There are some architectural restrictions in the neighborhood; the house should cover a minimum of 2,000 square feet (homes of up to 4,000 square feet are available) and stones and dimensional shingles should account for 75% of the material.

The neighborhood does have a homeowner’s association and it is mandatory to join the association. The fee is to be paid monthly and the association meets monthly to discuss the issues that the developing community is facing.

Since the houses are fairly new, many people living in the neighborhood are the first ones to have occupied the homes. It is close to major shopping centers and also Austin’s major employers.

The neighborhood has three amenity centers with resort type pools, tennis courts, outdoor facilities and recreational opportunities. Children will be children. They will want to roam around and have fun when they are playing. There is a 50 acre open greenbelt present in the neighborhood and can be used by children for fun activities.

Quarry Park offers a picnic setting that has been brought right out of ‘The Flintstones’ with quarried stone picnic tables. Crystal Falls Golf Course offers a nice serene environment in addition to different activities. The neighborhood also features a fishing lake and a disc golf course. There have been cases of vandalism on the public pools but the homeowner’s association has overcome the issue.

Searching for schools is not a problem. The neighborhood features William Winkley and Knowles Elementary Schools. The Running Brushy Middle School is adjacent to the Highlands and the students can attend Leander High School. The neighborhood does not have any pre-schools but other neighborhoods nearby like Lakeline Ranch and Crystal Falls Parkway have pre-schools.

Shopping is not a problem living in the Highlands. Shopping centers in Cedar Park and Leander are very convenient places to shop. The 1890 Ranch Shopping Center in Cedar Park is by far the most popular choice. It houses Target, Gold’s Gym, Cinemark movie theater and many more fun places for teens and pre-teens to hang out. Lakeline Mall is around 15 to 20 minutes away and there is an exquisite shopping center nearby called Gateway. In short, the neighborhood is situated in an ideal setting that allows one to enjoy the calm and serene country life and have a fun at the same time.
