Hutto School District

As a parent, on of your biggest responsibilities in life is the education of your children. Are they getting the right kind of education? Are they prepared for what life has in store for them? The Hutto Independent School district is located in Hutto Texas, a small community located between Round Rock and Taylor in South Central Willliamson County. There are 5 elementary campuses that start with Prekindergarten and go up to 5th grade. Two middle schools that include 6th through 8th and 1 high school which goes from 9th to 12th grade. The community is a small with about 11,000 residents who firmly support the Hutto School District.

Huto school district is culturally diverse. The students come from different cultural backgrounds with a Hispanic population of approximately 35%,, and an additional 7.2% of that hispanic population in bilingual education. Huto has a 15% African American population, and 45% Caucasian population.

Of the students that attend the Huto school district, over 70% intend to seek a University degree and 18% intend on seeking out a 2 year trade or technical degree. There is a population of 5% that make up the gifted and talented segment of the school population and teachers focus specialized programs towards these children. On the down side there is a 40% population of economically challenged children, but teachers and administrative personnel make sure that they get as much chance as other children do.
